Patrick Taylor Jr. rushed for 127 yards, while Darrell Henderson added 122 yards in the win. Anthony Miller and Damonte Coxie added 144 and 78 receiving yards respectively.
Tyshon Dye rushed for 71 yards for East Carolina, while Hussein Howe added 48 yards. Gardner Minshew threw for 351 yards for the Pirates, while receivers Trevon Brown and Tahj Deans had 128 and 59 yards respectively.
East Carolina was outgained by Memphis 635-466 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 27-23 by the Pirates.
